One of the largest bed and mattress retailers Bensons for Beds has found profit and is outlining its strategy for 2022 with further momentum that sees further investment into brick and mortar establishments with new store openings.
Bensons for Beds has a strong market position in the industry with an already impressive 179 stores but with a further 35 new openings planned this year, it’s clear the company eyes a future in the offline channels to drive the business forward.
The pace and vision for 2022 follows a successful trading year for Bensons for Beds, seeing it open an already impressive 18 new stores in the last 6 months with a particularly strong drive during December with 6 of the 18 opening within a 15 day period.
Sales ledger figures look impressive for the business with comparable sales figures up 10.5% against pre-covid figures as people begin to step out into the world and shop offline once more.
The popular retailer is investor led and the group, Alteri released trading updates ahead of the latest accounts statements, covering the trading period through to September 2021. The trading updates show operating profits (EBIT) of £1.6m on turnover of £101.9m in the closing months to September, showcasing the strong growth achieved in such a short and tumultuous period.
