The main benefit of the Lodge Platform Bed is that it adds tons of extra storage space which means you can organise and store all of your clothing, blankets, and pillows in the bed frame during the day, so they aren’t in the way of your living space.

The Lodge bed frame is an easy-to-assemble platform bed with an ottoman compartment in the foot end. It is available in either a walnut or oak veneer finish, and it suits contemporary rooms. From the foot end, you can open an ottoman compartment that is 25cm deep and holds extra bedding or decorative scatter cushions. What’s more, it is quite simple to assemble with customers happy with the build time and ease of use.

Customer feedback is strong but being a new product we do not have any long term reviews as of yet. Pros: The five boxes are numbered, so you know that everything has been delivered. The instructions (once located!) are precise and easy to follow. The main wooden bedframe is particularly easy to assemble, although two persons are needed to attach the headboard. Once fully assembled, the bed looks great, and is very sturdy. Having slept on the completed bed (with the mattress on!) for a couple of weeks, I have not yet found that it squeaks or rattles. Cons: Although the boxes are numbered, the instructions and hardware are located in box number FIVE. This is not a major problem, but logically, I would have expected to find these items in box number ONE! The list of tools that are required (as shown in the instructions) seems particularly odd, as I doubt that a pair of scissors or a tape measure would have helped me to insert the sixteen "Locking Pins". Maybe the list should include a crosshead or slotted screwdriver... The attachment of the metal slat frame to the mattress lifting mechanism was a trifle tricky, even with TWO persons. Aligning the FIVE screws with their respective holes was easy on the first side, but, required the use of brute force, and a quick-clamp to allow the FIVE screws to be inserted into their relevant holes on the second side. Overall, I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

Great bed; however pack 4 arrived damaged and the replacement was also damaged. Fortunately, its a part that is hidden within the frame and non-structural. This is damaged due to the packaging being insufficient rather than handling damage. The frame itself is very sturdy for a veneer frame and relatively simple in construction. The frame that holds the mattress is aluminium, which is partly why we chose those (previous spring slats were within a veneer frame and it bowed so the slats kept popping - the aluminium frame wont bow). Storage is very useful and makes what we were using the space for more accessible and tidier. Only negative is that the cat has now lost one of her spaces.

Looks lovely, and the veneer seems good quality, particularly on the headboard. The frame feels a little flimsy, however. Slats were very tricky to screw into the pre-installed hydraulics. These work as expected the slats and mattress can be lifted with relative strength although, in my case, the far end of the base/slats rub against the centre/dividing board underneath, meaning the mattress cant be lifted fully (and is what caused most of said trickiness installing). Still, storage is accessible and the it doesnt yet creak when in bed.

When I walked into the shop I was greeted by a friendly young guy. He was knowledgeable and helpful. He wasnt pushy and was very professional, helping me choose the right mattress. He even knew the bed that I wanted by my obscure description. I was kept updated with details of the delivery and the guys were also very nice. The staff in the shop were very helpful, I had to change the date of my delivery which was not a problem. The delivery chaps were on time and let me know just before they were arriving. They took their shoes off or wore shoe covers, they put the ottoman bed together with no dramas and took all the rubbish away with them. The bed is beautiful and I'm am really pleased with it, tons of storage. What more can you ask for!!! Highly recommend this bed and dreams.

I moved into a smaller house, where storage was at a 'premium'. After visiting a Dreams store, and explaining 'my dilemma' an 'ottoman-bed' was suggested. What a fantastic bed! I can't get over how much storage it gives you! I've managed to get all the Christmas decorations, and tree, in it! The build quality is 'exceptional' and I'd quite happily buy another if (I could afford to) for the spare room! Would I buy this again... most definitely YES!

Love the Lodge ottoman base - we moved up to a 5ft bed and wanted enclosed storage underneath. The oak is a very nice colour and everthing is finished very well. The bed arrived in 5 boxes and was relatively straight forward to build, it requires two people. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The quality of the bed is very good and the lifting mechanism brilliant much lighter and smoother than the other two ottomans we have.

A very comfortable frame which has loads of easily accessible storage. What impressed us most was that there was very slight cosmetic damage to the base which we wouldn't have even noticed but the team that assembled the bed did. Within 10 minutes of them leaving our house the Customer Service team had called us to arrange to have this minor addressed, which they rectified within a few days. Marvellous service!

Its a very nice looking and very sturdy bed once assembled. We picked out the "oak" colour and it lookes lovery. Easy to assemble and clear instructions to assemble. While assembling it was noticable that it can be dis-assembled with same ease. Ideally a 2 person job, but I managed to assemble the bed on my own. Storage space under the bed is huge! the ottoman lifts up effortlessly.

We went to the New Cross branch and the young lady in the branch was most helpful towards us she knew her beds knowledge very well, ordering was easy and the bed was in stock and was delivered on time they came and fitted the bed within an hour max. The lodge ottoman bed frame, looks fantastic in the darker walnut finish and the storage underneath does come in handy. as i managed to store alot of things. (i was advised not to store anything close to the piston mechanism that lifts and lowers the matress.) Think the bed frame was a good reccomendation for me when i visited the store.

Stylish and comfortable bed - it is nice and high up for ease of getting in and out of bed (with a big pregnant belly)! Ottoman style works well, lifts easily, a bit heavier to push back down, but assume this will ease up with time. Lots of space for storage in the ottoman as well. We love the look of it too.

This ottoman is like a Tardis, it has masses of usable storage (unlike many drawer-divan designs). It is well made in a good quality wood and the mechanism is sturdy although not the easiest to assemble so if you don't have a few tools it could be tricky. Very pleased with this purchase.

I had my eye on this bed for a while, and am so glad I bought it! The quality is good and there is ample space underneath the bed. The colouring is exactly as expected too. Although it took a bit longer than 30 minutes to assemble for one person (1hr 30!), I am very happy with this bed.

The bed all in all is great and looks nice. My only slight issue is the screws on the side of the bed frame which arent too noticeable in the product pictures but I do notice a lot in my bedroom. For a fairly expensive bed, it just gives it a cheaper feel.

The frame was installed by Dreams and the base is not firmly set. The guy explained that is because of our wooden floor. If it is sitting on carpet, it won't have such situation. When I lift the bed up, the base is slightly movable.

Can this bed be disassembled and then reassembled? We are due to move house soon and need to know that well be able to put it back together once were in the new house. There is not the option to transport it whole as it wouldnt fit down the stairs.

Answer: Yes, this bed can be disassembled and reassembled. A copy of the assembly instructions can be found online by searching for 'Isabella' then navigating to the overview section on the product page. Answer: The headboard outer frame is made from Solid Ash and the inner panel on the headboard is plywood.The side rail is solid wood mix particle board, the footend is solid wood, the bottom board is MDF.Unfortunately you would not be able to attach another headboard to the bed as this is part of the main structure of the bed.

Good afternoon, is the mattress recessed into the frame structure or does it lie flat above it? I have a longer-than-standard mattress so need to make sure the bed has an even surface with no edges. Also, where is it produced? Many thanks

Answer: There is a slight recess and also there are mattress retaining bars at either end of the frame to be able to hold the mattress in place, so unfortunately the mattress would need to be the correct size for this frame.The frame is produced in the far east.

Answer: I would recommend viewing this bed in store to help you match the colour to a bedside. Unfortunately we don't currently sell matching furniture. The colour / wood finish is described as Oak but this can vary across products and retailers
