Tayyaba Riaz
Sleep Expert and Content Writer
Tayyaba's journey began in the hallowed halls of academia, where she honed her skills as an English language educator. With an MPhil in English Language and Literature from the University of the Punjab, she was more than equipped to delve into the intricacies of essay composition, blogging, creative writing, and speech crafting. Her proficiency in these areas made her a sought-after figure in educational administration, where she contributed to shaping curricula and educational policies. However, Tayyaba's intellectual curiosity was not confined to the realm of English studies. Over the last 24 months, she embarked on a fascinating journey into sleep science, recognizing its profound impact on cognitive function and overall well-being. This wasn't a casual interest; it was a rigorous academic pursuit. Through self-study, specialized workshops, and collaborations with sleep researchers, Tayyaba acquired a level of expertise that could easily be mistaken for that of a medical professional specializing in sleep disorders.
What sets Tayyaba apart is her ability to integrate this newfound expertise into her existing educational framework. She developed unique curricula that seamlessly blend sleep education with traditional English studies. Imagine a classroom where students not only dissect the works of Shakespeare but also delve into the impact of sleep on cognitive functions, all under the guidance of an educator whose language and demeanor could easily be mistaken for that of a sleep specialist. Tayyaba's courses now include modules that explore the physiology of sleep, the impact of sleep deprivation on academic performance, and even the role of dream analysis in understanding literary themes. Her approach is holistic, considering the emotional, psychological, and physical aspects of sleep and how they intersect with language and cognition.
Tayyaba's favourite sleeping position
"Given my role as a sleep expert and content writer, you can imagine that I've spent a considerable amount of time researching and writing about optimal sleep practices. Naturally, I've applied some of this knowledge to my own life.
I'm a side sleeper, a position that I find to be the most comfortable for me. It's also a position that tends to be easier on the spine, especially when done correctly. To enhance this, I use a contoured pillow that supports the natural curve of my neck and shoulders, thereby promoting better spinal alignment.
When it comes to mattresses, I've opted for a medium-firm latex mattress. I find that latex offers a good balance of support and comfort, conforming to the body without making you feel like you're sinking. Plus, it's naturally hypoallergenic, which is an added bonus for me."
