We were just looking for a new headboard for our divan and were surprised by how much they were. We were also a bit short on storage and came across a different Oak ottoman in another store and was effectively only twice the price of a headboard and significantly cheaper than a divan. Came into Bensons and saw this. Much better than the other. Only slightly more in price. Clearly well made and went extremely well with the current furniture as the picture shows and it has a solid base for the bottom of the ottoman part. It is heavy. Comes in three boxes everything well wrapped, but would certainly suggest two people to put it together if doing it yourself. Took us an hour and, so fast, very pleased with it. I've seen basic Oak frames for this price and the ottoman part is generous and a real bonus.

Great bed. Not solid oak throughout and even where it's solid wood, it isn't always single-piece, but is veneered to appear so. Acceptable for the price. The biggest issue was that the first one we had delivered was very badly damaged. The boxes had been taped up (badly), so it was known damage that appeared to have occurred in the warehouse. The headboard was smashed, and there was damage on the other parts too. Bensons did replace it without any quibble (the photos were fairly compelling) but we did have to wait several weeks, while we had to store the broken one and sleep on a mattress on the floor.

This is a great looking bed. We wanted a wooden ottoman bed as we didn't like the fabric ones, and also wanted a solid base to it so that items were not just on the floor. Took a while but finally found this one. The frame seems solid and there is plenty of storage space. It was easy to assemble. Recommended 2 people but was able to do it by myself easily enough. Only thing I could criticise really would be that you only have a fabric strap to lift the mattress up to access the storage area, a more robust metal handle would probably be better, and would stop the mattress sliding downward on the bed aswell.

The Edgemont Ottaman bed frame is a godsend! The space under the mattress is now home to several seasons of quilts and bedding. Loads and loads of easily accessible storage. Pulling on the black cord at the foot of the bed and the hydraulic whatsits make lifting the weight of the heavy mattress so easy. Once constructed the frame itself has a really distinctive look and feels like quality craftsmanship went into the manufacturing. This was our second purchase from BfB. The staff (Swindon) are always really friendly and helpful. Delivery was on time and the driver and mate were cheerful and did exactly as requested without fuss. Assembly was simple with accurate drillings and reasonably quality fixtures (they don't feel like they're about the fall apart. For the price, the finish of the bed is good. The only thing I found annoying was the volume of polystyrene packing foam. It was also of a type that crumbles easily - making one hell of a mess. On the whole - great!

Love this Bed, Second one I have purchased as they are just so good. Takes a while to assembly on your own. but really well packed and easy to understand the instructions. No parts were damaged in transit. Note there is a lot of packaging to dispose of due to the level of packaging required to protect the product. Bed is really sturdy and great quality. Space underneath is enormous. perfect for a small flat with minimal storage and space to slide out under bed draws. Price is reasonable but you can always want something to be cheaper.

I loye this bed. I managed to build it by myself and only hurt my foot (by kicking a bar, it was definitely attached well) and catching my hand between the metal mattress support - don't do this, it really, really hurt. My neighbours were aware how much it hurt by my loud cursing! But overall, an relatively easy build and being able to hide things in the bed due to the kids not knowing it lifts is a massive win in my book! Also loving the slats on the headboard. Perfect for tying things to should the need arise...

This is a sturdy, well made bed. The opening mechanism is good. It has good instructions for making it but is a two person job to ensure nothing is damaged in the process. Comes with extra wood mattress support planks in case any break. Is packaged supremely well to avoid damage in transport. Would recommend this bed. Storage space is deep and the base wood pieces can be moved to the floor to give even more space for storage. Bed doesn't wobble or feel weak when you get in or out- there is no squeak or movement.

A good sturdy bed, with easy to operate ottoman. It is delivered in a number of boxes that are extremely heavy, the delivery men left them in our hallway where we had to unpack each box and carry the individual pieces upstairs. Instructions were easy to follow and no piece were missing, in fact we ended up with some spare fittings (even after double checking we hadn't missed anything). Looks great in our bedroom. Looking to order the matching side tables soon.

Would highly recommend the Edgermint ottoman bed, made to a high standard, easy folllow instructions for assembly and loads of storage space underneath. Incredibly sturdy but comes in 3 huge boxes each weighing 45kg+ ( according to the box so strong floors needed! As it holds a huge amount inside. The build instructions are clear and straightforward for most people to follow but you do need to be methodical and probably better for two to do it- be prepared for 2hrs+ 2 or more definitely best way to put mattress on. One completed it looks amazing and the lift mechanism is clever and very effective

The bed looks beautiful in my room and great with the extra storage underneath. We did however think it lifted higher than it does so we were a little disappointed in that but overall the design and quality of it is wonderful. I have to say although the delivery guys who were wonderful could not get it (kingsize) around the corner of the stairs to my loft, once we took it out of the box with all the wrappings, it went up quite easily.

Very solid bed frames. Easy enough to put together but beware the boxes and especially the headboard are very heavy. You'll also need a lot of space to unpack the boxes. Fortunately our rooms were empty before we had any other furniture. It just about killed the delivery guys getting the boxes to the 2nd floor. Now they're built they look very good. I think you will need at least two people to move and build them through.

I bought this bed after being disappointed after purchasing a bed from Weyfair. Bensons were helpful and ensured I found them right bed. The bed is solid, the bedhead itself needed 2 of us to lift it. A lot of storage I was pleasantly surprised by the amount it holds. And I love that the storage area has a base so the contents are protected and not in contact with floor. Benson's gain and Weyfair's loss.

Great bed frame, easy enough to assemble. Storage space is really good, especially with having base boards (some ottoman beds don't). Sprung base lats make for a comfortable base. Mechanism is great for raising and lowering the bed, but one minor criticism is that the cord for starting to raise the bed could do with being slightly longer and having a toggle' on it, as it's quite difficult to grasp.

On assembly I found damage to the bed, caused by bad packaging and not being handled properly it clear states a 2 man lift each of the 3 boxes were carried into the property by a single person, this clearly is not to their working practice and a major contributor to the damage, luckily I'm handy with DIY and sorted the issue, be careful to check the boxes before the delivery driver disappears!!

The Edgemont bed is without doubt the best quality bed that I have ever bought. The quality of the materials is excellent. Everything fitted perfectly and so easily went together. Very sturdy, heavy bed but I still managed to put it together on my own although would recommend 2 persons for a couple of parts. Very happy with purchase and buying experience from Bensons.

Great bed and really well made with lost of space underneath - feels totally solid Was simple enough to put together. The only negative i would say is the use of lots of polystyrene in the packaging. It's great the bed is so well protected but I wonder if some other material could be used. That aside would recommend this bed and we're both really happy with it.

On the positive side the bed frame went together easily (although it does take a couple of hours) and looks good. The downside is the strap to lift the bed doesn't have a loop and is difficult to hold, it would be easier with a handle. Also when lifting, the support pistons need to be stronger to take more of the beds weight as it's quite heavy to lift.

Delivery men were excellent. Good bed, seems solid and ottoman lift works well. Took over an hour to unpack and nearly 3 hours to assemble and I'm a very experienced DIYer! An electric drill with and a flexi drive from a socket set will make assembly of the hex screws much easier. You'll have enough packing and foam to fill 3 wheelie bins!

We love our new bed and mattress. It's a very heavy bed and did take a few hours to assemble, but I think we expected that. It looks lovely and there is loads of room in the ottoman section. I think the screw holes were not completely aligned, which makes it a bit difficult when assembling it. We did manage though.

Very sturdy bed. Nice colour and the top lifts up with ease. The polystyrene took as long to break down and get rid of as making the actual bed. We found the instructions easy to follow. It is quicker to assemble with an impact driver and socket set, although everything you actually need is provided in the boxes.

Excellent bed. Just what we wanted. 4 hour assembly but instructions really were crystal clear. All parts separately packaged and labelled. Difficult to know how clearer they could have been. Bed is really solid and much of it seems to be solid wood rather than veneer. Lots of storage comes in handy as well.

From purchasing the bed to delivery and installation, the process was seamless. Nothing too much trouble. Fitters took care, and the bed was up , demonstrated, in the specified time. The bed is a great height, even for someone at 5'3". And soooo comfortable. Great purchase

If you are after a solid piece of furniture then this is a good bed to look at. The one quality issue is that the metal frame was a little distorted but has no affect on the end result. For comfort, you might catch your legs on the edges of the frame.
