so far it seems a good bed for the price. It looks more expensive than it costs and I love the plush velvet headboard. you definitely need at least 2 people for assembly as its a good 3 or 4 hour job and some of the instructions are a bit back to front in places. After hours of assembling the bed we couldn't get the ottoman to work as the pistons wouldn't go down and it felt like if we pushed too hard we would end up breaking something. so in the end we had to Google for advice on what to do as we couldn't find any trouble shooting guide on the Bensons website or in the assembly instructions. most of the YouTube videos we found said you need to put the mattress on and the weight of it is usually enough to get the pistons working. but that is easier said than done when the ottoman part of the bed is at a huge tilt! anyway we eventually managed to get the mattress laid on top and pretty much immediately the left piston started working. and then the right side followed shortly after. so for anyone struggling to get the ottoman to work please try this method. it worked for us. as a woman I do find the ottoman very heavy to lift and I'm really hoping this gets easier over time as I need to be able to easily access items stored under the bed.

Great bed, the picture in the description here doesn't match but we ordered the grey velvet bed head double bed which had the draw up ottoman. It did take long to fit together but finally we cracked it in 5 hours to build! but after the bed is great, very comfortable and luxurious looking. Glad we bought it when we did which was back in either end of August we paid our deposit and did monthly payments thanks to this company which made it easier for us before we took full delivery. I did a lot of research, visited a lot of bed companies, i went to a lot of online companies like wayfair, amazon etc but the reviews were so average. Im so glad i found a trust worthy company and if there is any problems they are so helpful and they were so helpful during the processing of this order etc. Thanks to the lovely Brent Cross Team. Great bed great price. Happy with it. Few things worth mentioning. The bed did have a strong odor. I'm not sure if it's from the warehouse it's kept or the place it's manufactured but I did buy the "bed kit" and used the scents/ sprays in there to try tone it down. I built this myself and I think its worth mentioning once you've created the outer frame and start assembly on the metal inner frame. Instructions say to create the whole frame then to fit onto the hinges which you would have secured to the bed. I found this difficult by myself so I took one end off of the metal frame and attached that individually to each hinge then added the rest of the frame to it. By yourself you will not be able to hold up a fully built frame and try attach it to the hinges on the bed frame.

Purchased for 15 year old, whose almost 6' so needs more than a single bed. Great delivery service, even took the two boxes up the bedroom when asked, 5 star service. As others have said boxes are very heavy and you definitely need two people we had 3, which helped. Follow the instructions and it did take 90 minutes as per instructions to build it once you have opened all the packaging. Fantastic bed, ours was in grey and provides loads of storage space underneath. Son is very impressed and happy with it. Thanks to the Benson staff in Chelmsford for your help with the purchase and advice. Would totally recommend and this will have been the second purchase made from them.10/10

I'm happy with the bed on the whole. It looks good better quality than the rest. It took me 90mins to put together on my own but is definitely a two man job. If you are not good at these things you will struggle but instructions are good. The ottoman mechanism is so much better than my previous bed. My main gripe and is why I minuses a star is that when you put your weight on either end lifting yourself up the bed it bangs and things sound like they are going to break underneath and are moving then fall a back into place. Other than it it's great bed. You do get a strong smell from it for a couple of weeks like others have said but it goes and is not that bad.

We got the Alexis Ottoman bedframe in Kingsize, grey colour and it looks so lovely. It is such a bargain for money. The headboard and sides are so soft. We get compliments from people who have visited. It was surprisingly easy to put together (as a pair of people who have never put together a bed before). The only criticism (and it is barely one) is that I wish there was more than one strap to pull the mattress up on the frame as it can be quite awkward and uncomfortable. However, this can be easily adapted as I have just added the straps myself. We have now had the bedframe for about 3 and a bit months and we have no complaints so far.

Fabulous bed. Best bed we've ever had. It takes a LONG time to build it, but the instructions are really clear. You will need two people towards the end however did he majority myself. I would follow the instructions exactly, especially the section when you are building the base frame, as if you get one bit upside down (like I did) it's a nightmare to change (but my fault that). Really spacious and can fit 2 adults and a small child in the middle who gets in in the middle of the night very comfortably, which is why we bought it. Would highly recommend it. It also looks amazing!

Benson's for beds made choosing our new bed frame so easy. The assistant made us feel very welcome and encouraged us to try any bed we liked. We were given all the information we needed about all the beds we liked to help us make our own decision without being pushed towards a frame they were trying to get rid of. Delivery was just as easy too. We were given a phone call the day before it was delivered and on the day of delivery too. The guys delivering were very professional. I purchased the bed in a small double in the grey colour. The fabric is lovely and the bed is very well made. It was relatively easy to assemble and took my son a couple of hours. The ottoman is spacious and has a strong lift mechanism. I like the fact it also has a base which sits off the floor slightly. The bed comes with a lovely, high padded headboard which gives the bed a stylish look. I'd highly rate this bed, it looks great, we're very happy with the purchase especially as we bought it in the sale.

The bed itself is great. Looks good, colour is perfect and overall good value for money. Fairly easy to assemble. Only negative or constructive feedback would be, it isn't very clearly indicated on the website that it is self assemble and that for a small fee it can be assembled for you. I would have paid to have it assembled. Another point is, that when purchasing it was indicted 14 days for delivery, when I went to final payment page it changed to 28 days. Overall, am pleased with the purchase.

Our daughter is extremely particular about what she likes and we had been looking around for weeks but this fitted into how she had designed her bedroom perfectly!!. This is a gorgeous bed, well made and definitely worth every penny. It was also easy to put together too which was a huge bonus for a couple who hate flat packs!. Delighted with this bed. It was bought to replace an old faux leather ottoman bed, it took me a while to choose a bed but delighted I chose this one. It is so comfortable and the extra height make it look very stylish. Recently bought the alexis ottoman bed. From start to finish the customer service was great, I was kept updated about delivery from getting delivery time slot then call to say they were about 1 hour away the 2 guys were great & as promised took item to my room of choice. Beautiful bed, took 3 of us about 3 hours to build. The inner lining is very thin and we have a small rip from putting the board in the bottom. Perfect for my teen and a lovely looking bed. Great communication on delivery, delivery men were excellent, friendly, called ahead, carried it to the upstairs bedroom (two heavy boxes). Second one we have purchased for our teens. Got on sale therefore excellent value for money.

Really good looking bed. Wasn't too difficult to set up. Just a note that the pistons are really strong so it might be too difficult for a child to operate the bed. We have a very heavy mattress and it takes two adults to gently lower the mattress back down. There is tonnes of space underneath - it's really useful and I love that it looks so tidy unlike boxes under a bedframe. I would recommend this bed.

There was actually nothing i didn't like about this bed the packaging the instructions were spot on . I had to. Build this bed myself as my husband doesn't keep well and I don't have anyone to help I was worried about it. Gorgeous bed, fairly simple to assemble. It took two adults a couple of hours to put it together. It is sturdy and my daughter is very happy with it. I like that there is a gap between the bottom of the storage area and the floor, but it does mean that the storage area gets reduced. It wasn't a big problem for us and we still managed to store plenty of items there, including a carryon suitcase.

Purchased Dec-23 or Jan-24. Good bed, good quality overall. Colour is as shown, fabric is nice and soft/as shown. One screw, the thread eroded so cant undo it and I really needed to as I Made a little mistake when putting the frame together, not impressed with screw quality. Basically stick to the instructions. Even though 2 peices might seem identical, its not always the case.

Personally I find the mattress too springy and the bed itself I find a little rickety , I'm not confident that if I was to sleep in it it wouldn't collapse , I sure you don't want to hear this but I'm being honest just as I was when I gave your staff in store 5 stars I would not recommend it to anyone , also when putting it together the instructions were a little confusing.

The bed is excellent in terms of quality and instruction and more specifically how the screws are sorted out. User finds very easy to assemble, provided there are two persons to do it. The sales staff Abu from Webnesbury branch is very patient and with professional knowledge. Also he is good at rapport building and we found it happy to purchase from his service and advice.

We love this bed. It looks amazing, has plenty of storage and is so comfortable. I was worried about replacing my bed and mattress of 20 years as it was still so comfy but I am not disappointed. Very happy with the bed, the only issue was we had to wait 4 months for it but in present circumstances that is understandable I suppose. One small note on quality would be the feet, not sure how strong they are, time will tell. We kept our original mattress but it works well with the frame. Straightforward to assemble and great to have the storage!

It is great product. Love the texture and colour of the bed. Very good product and definitely recommend this product if anyone wants to buy. Comes with a hard base and lots of storage. Really good bed frame and can't fault the quality. The height is perfect which really helps my wife who is currently pregnant. The build was a bit of a pain and few bits confusing etc, but got there in the end! Instructions could be clearer but then again, me with a spanner is not any better. This is the only reason to knock off a star.

Looks good when assembled The instructions tell you to push frame down before putting the slats on, but this wasn't possible and I thought I had assembled it incorrectly. However, I fitted the slats whilst the frame was in the lifted position and was then able to push it down to close it. Would be best to have 2 people to assemble.

Lovely bed and great price. My husband and I put it together in an afternoon so not too bad, it probably took a little longer as we always go wrong somewhere and have to go back a few steps. Looks really nice and I lke that there is a base to the underbed storage as sometimes the inexpensive ones just have a piece of material.

My only issue is that we had to build it ourselves. With the money we paid i would have expected that it would be built. We were made fully aware at the point of purchase that this was the case, but i am still surprised that this service is not even an option. The bedframe is a flatpack which had not been mentioned during the purchase. However, the instructions and assembly were reasonably straightforward. I was worried about the strength and robustness of a flatpack bed assembly, however, I have been pleasantly surprised that it seems good....so far (use over time will tell !).

My son loves this bed! He says the sprung slats (compared to solid ones on his last bed), make it so much more comfortable (he still has the same mattress). I built it by myself in 2-3 hours. Love the bed, looks great and provides much needed storage. My husband and I managed to build it in a couple of hours. You do need adequate space for building the metal support for the mattress though. Highly recommend, headboard and bed feel sturdy and of a really good quality.

Frame is sturdy and the headboard is good quality. When lifting the storage part of the bed, it appears to be very flimsy. I wouldn't be comfortable with my kids jumping up and down on it. Also there is a weird cheesy smell emanating from the bed. Very off putting!

Not a bad product to be fair. Assembly is a bit of a nightmare - if you manage to do it in the 90 mins it estimates on the guide you should seriously consider starting your own flat pack assembly business. Try 5 hours - and I've got half a clue.

Bed seem to come with a lot of parts that needed to be fitted together that I feel with some better design could have been at least halved. considering we had to build bed almost completely, I feel it was expensive.

Lovely bed bought for my 13 year old daughter. She is very pleased with it and ottoman storage is very useful. Instructions were very clear though it did take some time to put it together.

Good quality well made frame and the gas strut to aid lifting are good quality also. Some of the ottoman beds were poor quality. This one was by far the best. Really pleased with it.
