Why our sleep experts loved it
When it comes to creating a serene sleep environment, both comfort and aesthetics are important factors. The Lilliana Ottoman Bedframe certainly makes a bold statement with its deep buttoned and winged headboard, but does it deliver when it comes to comfort and functionality? Let's delve deep into my personal experience as well as that of others to explore this bedframe in detail.
How we tested
The store-based testing methodology involved a detailed examination of the bed frame’s design, materials, build quality, and functionality. Assessed within a retail space, and not in a home environment, the bed frame's durability, comfort, and storage capabilities were evaluated, albeit without the daily wear and tear imposed by regular use. Trial movements were performed in-store to mimic real-world experiences, though certain aspects like long-term comfort and structural longevity could not be fully gauged.
Design and features
The Lilliana Ottoman Bedframe boasts a unique deep buttoned and winged headboard that indeed commands attention. Available in two colour options, Deep Ocean and Grey, the upholstery is done in part with recycled fibres, adding a dash of eco-friendliness to its allure. Despite the velvet fabric's luscious sheen, I found the available colours rather bland and the material appeared thin, undermining the product's premium positioning. Additionally, the unusual wrap-around design of the headboard impeded its universal appeal.
Construction
The bedframe is front-lifting, revealing an ottoman style storage space. For those with a flair for additional stowage, this might seem like a bonus. Customers lauded it for its sturdy build quality and the useful additional storage under the bed. However, in my view, the fabric used appeared to lack the expected thickness and quality.
The bedframe comes in three sizes: double, king, and super king, allowing flexibility based on room size and personal preference. Oddly, the bedframe features a low foot-end design, which I personally find far from ideal, especially for those who prefer a defined bed structure.
Suitability
Although customers praise the bed for its comfort and luxurious look, I found the headboard's design quite strange. While a rounded edge or a wrap-around might appeal to some, it may not be universally loved. Another potential downside is the price. As a top-of-the-range item, it does require a considerable investment, making it less appealing for those on a tight budget.
What customers thought
Overall, customer feedback on the Lilliana Ottoman Bedframe has been positive. Users appreciated its sturdy build, good looks, and the additional storage space. Some customers also highlighted how the bed enhanced their sleep experience, with some experiencing improved sleep quality. However, bearing in mind my personal feelings, potential buyers should consider style preferences and budget carefully.
The verdict
The Lilliana Ottoman Bedframe certainly champions sturdiness and offers a unique design with its winged headboard and front-lift ottoman setup. Many consumers will find its ample storage space and design fitting for their bedrooms. However, my perception differs a bit. Given its price bracket, the limited colour palette, wrap-around design, and low foot-end make it less desirable. The apparent fabric quality, albeit partially composed of recycled materials, seemed to lack the richness expected for a bed of this stature. So, while the Lilliana Ottoman may be suitable for some, I advise potential buyers to evaluate their preferences and needs before investing.
