The Panda Bamboo Mattress Protector has garnered much attention for its eco-friendly nature, breathability, and waterproof qualities. I got my hands on this one at home rather than in a showroom, straight out of the box and onto my own mattress, so I could see if it actually feels like 'bamboo' or if it's just marketing. This review below is based on customer feedback and my own first impressions of the materials and fit, while also looking further into whether or not the protector will be suitable for you. Mine was the same, it felt like a premium product rather than a cheap plastic-wrapped protector. The protector fits well on various mattress sizes, including super king and European-sized mattresses, even accommodating deep mattresses with toppers.
Fit-wise, I pulled it over a fairly deep mattress and the elastic skirt did a decent job of grabbing the corners without me having to wrestle it. However, a few customers mentioned that the protector might run short or shrink after washing, so it is advisable to consider a slightly larger size. I'd also say, if you're right on the limit with a deep mattress and a thick topper, you might find it rides up a bit over time, especially if you move around a lot in the night.
Comfort and Breathability Most users found the mattress protector to be comfortable, smooth, and non-lumpy. Lying on it for a quick test on my back and side, it didn't have that stiff 'sheet of plastic' feel that some waterproof protectors do, and it stayed pretty flat under a fitted sheet. That said, you can still tell there's a waterproof layer in there, and if you're really sensitive to temperature it can feel a touch cooler when you first get in, then it levels out. If you already sleep warm, I'd be realistic about it, a waterproof backing is always going to reduce airflow compared to a basic cotton protector.

It has been tested and proven to be waterproof by several customers while the majority of users found the protector to be quiet and discreet, with minimal noise from the waterproof backing. However, a few customers felt that the protector was noisier than expected.
When I rubbed the surface and shifted around on it, I could hear a faint rustle, not loud, but it's there in a quiet room. This is an issue that gets raised among many who purchase protectors mainly due to the materials used. If you're the sort of person who notices every little sound (or you share a bed with someone who does), it's worth bearing in mind.

For the price, I'd also like to see really clear washing guidance front and centre, because if it does shrink for some people, that's a pain and it affects the fit more than anything else.
