After an awful experience with Dreams staff in their Croydon branch, I decided to check out Benson for Beds online and immediately fell in love with the Penelope Ottoman bed frame so I found their Croydon showroom and paid them a visit. I wanted to see the bed physically. Staff were warm and really welcoming; I felt like I was visiting with old friends! I was given all the information I needed to make a decision and advised to take my time to think about whether I wanted to make the purchase. King was most concerned with me able to access the far left/right corner of the ottoman space. I went home but couldn't stop thinking about the beauty of this bed. Within a week I was back to place the order! Waiting for the delivery I read all the reviews and found the helpful one given by Russell W who suggested using the 1/4 ratchet for assembly. When the bed arrived, after carefully sorting the nuts, bolts etc , my husband said that Russel W's advice was invaluable, making the bedframe relatively easy to assemble (I stayed out the way until he needed any assistance). I also bought on Amazon 4 x 90cms length soft under bed storage boxes w/handles at each end, so the far unaccessible corner is also now resolved by simply pulling forward the boxes for access. I purchased the recommended mattress for this bed which makes the bed look quite palatial, but it's very heavy. And, although I thought its weight might cause difficulties lifting to access the ottoman space, following the instructions has resulted in lifting/closing the mattress works like a dream! The hydraulics are fantastic, making the task as light as a feather! I have now had my bed since towards the end of July 2024 and absolutely love this bed. It is also the envy of my neighbours and friends. Thank you Bensons. I would very highly recommend!!!!

First of all I went into the Solihull branch and gentleman serving me was great, on paper work says it was Gabby Parker. He is a credit to the team. Very professional patient didn't rush me I came back and forth a few times. Not only was the service great the process was smooth and efficient. Didn't have to wait too long for bed less than 2weeks. Paid for assembly and bedcover as I have gone for a cream bed. Bed is sturdy and looks really nice. The storage is super handy was worried about mattress slipping off as ottoman opens to side but it's fine doesn't slip off at all just a bit heavy to open which is fine as you want it secure so it doesn't fall down on you. Only thing I would say, I wish the bed had a safety rail that locks in place when you open the ottoman to prevent any potential accidents as some other beds have this and extra safety would have been preferred. Guys came to fit it, was professional and didn't take long. I was always updated to when they was coming. Overall very happy.

I purchased the super-king last month and it is the best purchase I've made, the bed frame is very sturdy and comfortable. The ottoman can be built to open from either side of the bed and stays in place when opened so no worries about it closing when placing items inside. The material the frame is made of is so soft and padded in the headboard and footboard. My only complaint would be the headboard sits quite far from the wall so keep that in mind when measuring the space in the room for the bed.

The bed frame when built is great, but the instructions to build were not clear and concise and so took 4-5 hours to build which was frustrating as I thought it would be much easier and quicker to build. Basically came as a flat pack with awkward fixings, Allen key screws that with the where they need to go could only screw 1/4 turn at a time in places! The screws were so easy to cross thread! Overall pleased with the finished result but stressful to build!

I previously bought cheap & regrettable it was such a disappointment, but cheap buy twice. Now this isn't the Cheapest but the quality is obvious. Strong Sturdy & looks Amazing. The slats made a difference on the comfort level of my simba super king mattress & fitted perfectly. Instructions are terrible, cmon Benson put a colour & actual picture instructions together & make the build process easier. Took me hrs but that's my only gripe.

Bed wonderful. However, paid for delivery to room, I assumed that meant leaving a bed to sleep on but no. Just the boxes and left to assemble myself,( got someone in!) . Obviously a misunderstanding at purchase but disappointed nonetheless. Last time I bought a bed they assembled and took away packaging. Will go there next time, (Dreams.)

The bed is great and exactly like the photo. Brilliant storage underneath as well. The only issue is the assembly of the bed, the instructions aren't very clear in terms of the different screws which all look the same! Would have been better if they were colour coded or in different labeled bags. It took 3 of us to assemble the bed

Bed is lovely and is a great mental heath bonus. Stubborn I can do it attitude means we built ourselves and it was a tough day, it could be a tv challenge show :-). 2 plasters many broken nails and a high adrenaline success feeling. Instructions should include some more words maybe. Happy teenager though

The bed is great but the mattress slips off when opening the side. I purchased the mattress that was recommended on the website and it looks ridiculous! The mattress is taller than the foot of the bed, don't recommend a mattress that doesn't look like the picture as it comes across as false advertisement!

Really good bed however when purchased at the shop was never mentioned to be flat pack and was surprised as such when delivered. All the different screws mixed together in one bag so a long time separating them in appropriate piles before the task of building!!
