Why our sleep experts loved it
Normally when I look at the different mattresses across retailers ranges, I talk about the support structure and the pros and cons of each, it's almost always singular however, until today's review. The Ruby Air Memory Foam is one of the first in a "new wave" of hybrid mattresses that comes with a high density foam base with an additional support layer of next-gen memory foam.
For the top layer, the Ruby Air Memory Foam comes with that premium memory foam that is in demand right now for many. The foam is thick and luxurious and gives you an impressive sinking feeling, I frequently refer to it as "cloud like", it's a popular top layer that people seem to love. What's nice here is you have effectively got two layers of memory foam, one in the next-gen variety and one of ultra-premium softness that allows you to just sink further and further into the product.
One complaint that frequently occurs with memory foam is that it can get too hot, especially in the summer. To combat this, the Hyde & Sleep Ruby Air Mattress comes with a luxurious breathable cover that helps keep you cool. For those that do get too hot at night, consider some of the other models in the Hyde & Sleep range that feature Aurora® Foam. While the Ruby Air helps keep you cool, we found the Aurora foam beat it out when it comes to all-season coverage for hot sleepers.
More on the support layer and the tension has been dialled in at a very firm rating. This type of rating may not suit most people and should typically be considered by those who have a preference toward a much firmer type of support, or those that have been recommended a need for an orthopaedic-like sleep. The average person, especially side sleepers, should consider other products from the Hyde and Sleep range. Do note that there is a slightly softer, although still firm variety that may have wider and more mass market appeal.
Reviews for this mattress are good, with only a few short term reviews so far, paired with a market leading 100% consumer satisfaction which is where people are satisfied with their purchase after use. Typically in an industry which is so subjective and personalised (due to differing interpretations of comfort and support) we would treat anything above 85% as a fairly good indicator of a premium and polished product. That said, there are no long term reviews just yet and the sample size is still particularly low.
Good reviews all much say the same thing with people commenting on the great quality to cost and how they are now getting better and deeper nights sleep than ever before. Other positive reviews make mention of the enhanced back and neck support found with the Ruby's very firm tension support structure.
