The Botfield traditional mattress is a new mattress from the popular manufacturer The Dreams Workshop. The brand is not found elsewhere and is sold exclusively through Dreams. The Botfield mattress fits within the lower-quadrant in terms of price point and you are unlikely to find full-sized mattresses for cheaper but don't think for one second that this means you won't still be able to get a good night's sleep. Let's dive into the fillings and construction below and see what we are working with.

Starting with the support layer this mattress features an impressive open coil spring system. This type of spring system features less body contouring than the equivalent pocket springs but is also half the price. I would argue the reduced costs of such a layer can be offset with a good comfort layer and still provide a good night's sleep.

Onto the comfort layer and you have a generous layer of soft fillings. These fillings are important as they keep you from the springs, which, regardless of quality, are traditionally pointy and painful and so we cover these with different layers of varying qualities. In this instance, soft fillings provide more than enough comfort to detract from the spring system and will provide a good degree of comfort that won't cause you to get too hot while you sleep.

I replaced my old mattress which I had for 7 years. It was also from Dreams and it cost me considerably more than this one. I was a little apprehensive about buying a mattress so much cheaper but did not want to spend so much money right now on one. I bought this thinking in 2-3 years I will buy a new one. I now don't think this needs replacing that soon. This mattress is not as firm as I would like (but I like mine very firm) but other than that I have absolutely no complaints. It doesn't "feel" like a budget mattress and it is absolutely excellent value for money. I will not be buying other expensive mattresses in the future as this does the job. I am very pleased. Also - the delivery and collection of my old mattress was really hassle free. The delivery people were amazing and I would absolutely recommend using this service. They carried the mattress all the way to my bedroom on 4th floor (no lift) and carried the old mattress out. They were so polite, kind and professional. Really pleased.

I bought this bed about a month ago, and it is perfect for me, I do highly recommend it for anyone on a budget but still after a quality product. A few main points: - Lighter than my old mattress, easy to access stuff under the bed, easily held up with just one hand while reaching for things - Very comfortable, I prefer a firmer bed, but this gave a soft touch with a firm feel, great for back or side sleepers (I do a bit of both!) - Saying this, I have had back pain for a few years and this has reduced my pains drastically, I thought it would be just the first few days but my back is improving still! - Again, great value for the quality of the product. Delivery was phenomenal, quick service and delivered to my bedroom. Overall, would give this a 9/10, only because there is always room for improvement, and I imagine if I was to buy a mattress for 5x the price it would be better, but this is DEFINITELY worth the money.

Bought as a mattress for a trundle bed as my sister was visiting. I purchased over the 'phone and explained that my sister is 75 and has poor mobility, so needs something comfy to sleep on that will also support. As I am on a limited budget I was advised that this mattress was probably the most appropriate, and was in the sale at half price. (Hooray!). It was delivered very promptly as arranged by very courteous and respectful drivers, and taken to the correct bedroom. My sister approached the trundle bed and mattress with dread! The next morning she awoke refreshed and told me that the mattress was comfortable and that she had had a good nights sleep with no issues. Whew!!! Thank you Dreams!.

I had this bed and mattress purchased for me so I cannot complain. I am used to a memory foam mattress which was bought from Dreams about 8 years ago and was superb comfort but was starting to have a funny smell. I was dubious about a sprung mattress and first couple of nights were torture. However once my body adapted I found it to be reasonably comfortable and supportive. I would prefer more padding on the top really as being a larger bird I must be squashing those springs hard and I can feel them in my shoulder. For anyone more slender it wouldn't be a problem. The mattress isnt very thick but is quite firm. I will be looking to get a padded topper then I'm sure it will be just fine.

Why this mattress you may ask, well its for my daughter who had out grown her cot bed and needed a single bed. So checked online, filtered through the criteria that I was looking for and found this mattress. Website is nice and easy to use as is the order process. its nice that you get a delivery day and then a slot on the day so you don't need to hang around waiting all day. Delivery was fine, with the mattress placed in room of choice. The mattress, feels like decent quality, and has a decent amount of bounce too. Can't fault' the mattress. As its only been a matter of weeks I tend not to give a full 5 stars. Given the quality I think in the long run its a 5 star mattress.

Bought two of these mattresses for new bunk beds bought for grandchildren. Did have to ring Customer Service as although height dimensions given were suitable for bunk beds, on reading questions/answers on the website customers had been told these were not suitable. Good service from C/S who rang a store and asked for confirmation of height dimensions. All good would be suitable. Had to wait a few weeks for delivery, but good communication when due to arrive. Rechecked dimensions when coming off wagon, too deep! Only for driver to realise theyd off loaded wrong mattresses and quickly rectified. Have read reviews of this mattress prior to purchase and seeing the 50% off cost i was almost convinced this was too good to be true. Surely you couldnt have a fantastic mattress at such a ridiculous price...... at dreams its possible. Not only was I kept informed not just by email but text also of where and when my mattress would be delivered but the quality of the product itself is brilliant. Back is getting better with each nights sleep, yes it is a hard mattress but its exactly what I needed and I couldnt rate it higher or the dreams team. Ordered this matress for my 2 year old to go into her big girl bad. Was really happy with fhe cost. I had to wait about 7 weeks for delivery but I was kept up to date. On the day of delivery the guys were really friendly and professional. I got stuck in a meeting when they were due to deliver and they initially said they couldn't leave it in the shed as I had requested but they then rang their manager and he agreed to leave it in the shed for me. Was kept up to date all day by the 2 guys, definitely very good customer service. Overall really happy with the product and it is very good quality especially for the price.

Bought this mattress as a replacement for our daughters bed as a surprise for when she visits from Uni. We didnt have a huge budget for it, so we were looking for a mattress that was a good price. She has been home for two weeks and loves it, has said it is super comfy and gives her a good nights sleep. Ordered online which was really quick and easy. Bought for my 4 year old son, think its a solid purchase for the price (especially as we got ours in a sale). Nice and comfy, my son sleeps well on it, no complaints. Delivery was a breeze, I was kept informed by text message with my delivery slot along with a phone call on the day confirming the timeframe. The 2 delivery men were professional, quick and efficient, taking the old matress away (we paid for this at the time of ordering), putting the new one on the bed, giving some care instructions and taking packaging away. As a returning customer I had no hesitation in searching online at Dreams was made very simple found the right product at a reasonable price, opted for delivery and collection of old mattress. after online purchase two days later we receive a large bag for old mattress to be put in ready for the delivery day. I bought this mattress a month ago. I could say that it is all I need in terms of a mattress. It has a great texture that adds style and identity to the product and the home decor. The mattress is incredibly comfortable and soft. It exactly that in between desire I was looking for - not too soft or too hard. It is right in the middle, perfectly shaping around your body proportions. I could say that my sleep quality improved. Fair mattress for the price (bought in the sale) and does the job. Im pleased with my purchase. I just need a mattress topper now. However, big shout out to the guys who delivered the new mattress and took away the old one. They were amazing: so friendly, professional, polite, and took their shoes off at the door. I live in a small terrace house and they got the double mattress upstairs no problem without hitting anything. Absolute pros! Great guys. I purchased this mattress approximately two weeks ago as I was long overdue in updating my mattress as I was starting to wake up with a painful back. I must say that this specific Watson Traditional Spring Mattress is much better than I would have expected. I have had the best couple of nights sleep I have had in many months. I bought this mattress 3 weeks ago for a guest bed, had a guest sleep on it for 10 days and says very comfortable and got an excellent night sleep. Was lucky enough to buy on offer and found this to be an excellent buy! The service from Dreams was again excellent from ordering felt very well informed of delivery and the delivery men were superb, even taking their shoes off before entering house and kind enough to take upstairs for me, they even thanked me for getting the old mattress wrapped and downstairs waiting for them.

Bought as a mattress for the guest bed. I was at work when it was delivered and my poor old mum was there by herself, the delivery guys were great with her brought it into the house and even wanted to unpack it for her. They followed all the covid regulations and could not have been nicer to her. So thank you Dreams. After waiting 4 months for a bed and messed around by other bed companies I finally had my bed and mattress delivered on June 5th! Its the most comfortable bed Ive ever lay on, and was well worth the wait! I was kept up to date with everything that was happening to my bed, I received multiple phone calls regarding the delivery. I bought this 4 weeks ago and It came 10 days later. The packaging was slightly dusty from the van but other than that when the packaging was removed it was great. They even took it into the bedroom while i was as at work. My pregnant girlfriend would be able to move it alone. Thanks. Easy to order. Fab delivery service. Rang at 08.15am on delivery day, said they would be with me 09.15am. Turned up Bang on 09.17am, Team even offered to carry upsatairs. Can't fault delivery team. Mattress is excellent, both for price & quality. Really pleased with it. My 3 year old absolutely loves it & sleeps really well now. For the price we payed Im seriously impressed with this mattress. Its very comfortable to sleep in and my Son sleeps so much better on it. You cant feel the springs through the mattress and it gives a nice medium-firm support while sleeping. This is a solid mattress, comfortable and firm. More spacious than you expect from the size, too. My only complaint is that it isnt as resistant as other mattresses Ive had; when I kneel on this one, my knees sink quite deeply and I feel the springs compressing a lot. It makes me wonder how long it will last. But lying on it is comfortable and you dont sink when youre lying on it and its comfortable to sleep on, so this is a very minor issue.

This mattress is the most comfortable one I've had in many years. I have never needed a lot of sleep but not only am I sleeping better but when awake am more than happy to lie and read in comfort. Always in the past the without something to cover the mattress, (duvet, blanket etc under the bottom sheet), the mattress has felt cold, no problem with this one, the material it's made of generates warmth. Right now all I can say is - I love my bed!!

I took delivery of this mattress on Xmas eve & frankly, I'm disappointed. I am not a big adult, 5ft 6in, 11 stone & frankly I find it a bit uncomfortable! The springs can be felt through the material & are occasionally noisy!! It was less than half price on an offer & now I realise why! Frankly I think their claim that it was valued at 279 is a deliberately misleading claim. I am rating the value based on the offer price, NOT the sale price!

So we rather embarrassingly brought this mattress for when my lovely boyfriend stays over. He snores and I'm a fidget so if we cant stay in my main bed together one of us is renegaded to the sofa which is not good for either of our backs. We wanted a single mattress firm enough for an adult for a price to justify it's only short term use. We werent disappointed. Spent a couple of weeks searching for a good value mattress for a spare bed, which had to be quite slim (about 20 cm or less) and firm. After reading the reviews I bought this and it is very good. Just as firm as I wanted without being uncomfortably so, and in spite of some reviews saying you can feel the bed springs in your back, I didnt find this to be the case. Im 11 stone so maybe people heavier than me might find it uncomfortable.

Mattress came well packaged and was able to arrange delivery on day suitable for me. They even delivered it earlier then the time arranged because they had a cancellation. Mattress itself is well made and my 5 year old loves it so much he tends to sleep in a little longer in the morning! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is becuase the mattress seems to come with a faint flower print on and I would have preferred it to be plain.

We bought this mattress for my son (almost 3) in preparation for baby number 2 arrival. The ordering, dispatch and delivery process could not be faulted and drivers super helpful on delivery day. The matress is much more springy than I expected which is fine for my little ones weight but if my husband or me lie on it, it sinks under our weight. So would say suitable as a child's mattress but not regularly for a adult

I purchased this mattress whilst it was on offer. It was a great price but I was slightly concerned about the quality so along with the mattress I purchased insurance, just in case. However, I have to say on this occasion, the price doesnt mean anything. Its a comfy enough mattress, if you prefer a softer mattress I would advise buying a topper, but personally I havent as I dont think it needs one. Very happy.

I bought this a month ago for my informed and elderly mother. I needed a firm mattress and thinner (lower) than the previous mattress, to prevent her slipping off the side of the bed when sitting on it. The first mattress arrived with a faulty spring bulging the underside on one corner. Just bought 2 single Dream beds for hubby and myself as we needed to separate beds. We work different shifts, I dont want to disturb him on his sleep everytime I come home late as he leaves to work early. I bought this mattress at the sale price and although its ok Id have to be honest and say I wouldnt pay the full asking price for this or if I had Id be returning it. I only had this 3 weeks and already can feel the springs coming through. Im not a heavy person at 10 stone so thats not the issue. I bought two of these mattresses to go on top of a slatted daybed and trundle. I could not be happier. The mattresses fit perfectly, and the trundle glides smoothly into place every time. I know that there is an ineffable craze for memory foam and the like but we wanted a good quality, comfortable traditional mattress and this didn't disappoint. Bought this and another mattress while the sale was on, absolutely thrilled with the quality. Beautiful damask covered and very comfortable. Suppose is very good for my back ache. For a mattress that is spring, it feels very similar to a memory foam. Having had both in the past I was sceptical about getting a spring mattress, finding that memory foam helps my back. I need a firm mattress and this actually impressed a lot. 4 stars because it's not quite an Emma mattress, but considering it was 2 grand+ cheaper, I'm very happy. Definitely recommend.

I saw this mattress on offer in the sales for 130, I brought this mattress to go on my sons first best. I am pleased thats its not too firm and quality is there. We have had it for 2 weeks now and I have spent the odd night sleeping in there and found it supportive and comfortable. I bought this mattress online after reading the reviews. My boy wasnt liking his old mattress anymore as it didnt offer any support. The mattress came on time and was promptly put in use. My son said he had for the first time in a while had a good nights sleep. So i a very satisfied with the mattress quality. The cloth is of good quality and the finishing is great.

Weve had the mattress a couple of weeks now, we really needed a new and this one seemed a bargain in the sale. Its firm like it says, also quite bouncy... not sure if this is a good thing, it can be annoying when my partner moves and the whole mattress bounces around too. It was delivered ready to be put on the bed once the polythene wrapping had been removed and so it was not mis-shapen or in need of unfolding which was a helpful feature. If you like an old fashioned sprung bed this is for you, I tried some of them fancy beds, emma, dormeo etc etc but could not get on with them, much too hard, so i went back to the old faithful and at the price you won't go wrong if you a bit of a traditionalist like me, take a few days to get used to it but now getting a much better nights sleep

We received this a few weeks ago. Looks lovely. Good thickness. The quilting is okay, it's not the best. You CAN defenitly feel the springs, but they arent too uncomfortable. It makes for a decent nights sleep but I would either say this should be used in a guest bedroom or used only as a temporary mattress. It's good value for what it is.

This single mattress is so comfortable and smooth. We bought it when it was 50% off sale. Compare to our old mattress which has no firmness in it when you sit down by the bedside; you just sink in right to the bottom.
